My name is Jonathan Davydov. I am a working writer who focuses on the issues of family, government, and social mobility in fiction.

I’m looking to expand my network and learn more about my craft.

Jonathan is based in Boro Park, Brooklyn, where he was born and raised.

Today, Jonathan is primarily working on two projects: a satirical novel that centers around a 17th century Italian Vicomte’s quest to sabotage his son, Azazzelo, and serves as a critique on aristocratic forms of government and bureaucracies, and a novella that unfolds a son’s toxic relationship with his immigrant mother over the course of their visit to a cemetery in decaying, suburban America.

Personal Background

Being born into a poor family of Bukharian-Jewish refugees from Uzbekistan, Jonathan owes part of his passion for story-telling to the need for increasing awareness about his relatively unknown ethnic minority. Central Asia and its diasporic peoples are rich with beautiful written and oral traditions, and Jonathan plans on sharing them with the world.

Literary Experience

While at Cornell, Jonathan attended two creative writing classes, under the instruction of Peter Gilbert and Ernesto Quinonez, respectively. Currently, Jonathan is enrolled in an advanced composition class at Sackett Street, under the instruction of Mark Prins.
